Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty

Each year, chiliads of excursionist approach for the base of the highest mountain in the world- Mt. Everest.  Trekking at the lap of the Himalayas can be an endurance adventure for many of them. Many hikers complete this trek easily whereas some feel quite challenging to succeed this trek.   Numerous factors are bound together which ascertain the difficulty of the Everest Base Camp trek.

1. Duration/Length of the trek

Trekking in the lap of Himalayas can be fatiguing. We approximately walk 65 kilometers for Everest Base Camp and the almost the same distance to be back to Lukla. We are stretching at the highest point of Kalapatthar measuring 5,554m above sea level and Everest base Camp- 5300m from sea level. Per day the upthrow 600-800 meters where the level of oxygen depletes moderately.

If you do not acclimatize yourself in some places such as Kathmandu, Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, the journey becomes more difficult.

3. Training your body for the trek

Each of us has a different ability to tolerate altitude and be adjusted to high elevation. Although we do not need a professional hiker or climber to succeed this trek, we should not neglect thinking we can get it easily. It is better to some prior training to make this journey easier.

It is important to have basic training to strengthen our body and make for a high elevation journey. You should hike on rough terrain, rocky trail, and even alpine climate. For this, you can start from small exercises such as walking ups and downs, being trained in Gym, and doing some aerobic exercises.

4. Unpredictable Weather

We cannot trek Everest Base Camp Throughout the year due to the unanticipated weather.  The trekkers feel huge differences in the climate on the same day.

In the mountains, it is not possible to predict exactly whether the weather will be favorable or not which can create difficulty in the trek. It is better to follow the instructions of your guide

If you are confident enough with a physically fit body having some preparation before the trek, you can complete this trek without many difficulties.
