Best Time to visit Nepal

Nepal is the destination for all year round. The number of visitors is increasing each day regardless any season.

It has the great climatic differences according to its geography. It has scorching heat of Terai (plains), freezing cold in the Himalayan areas and mild temperature in the hilly region at the same time.

Your trip in Nepal depends upon the plans and activities that you wish to do and the place you want to visit as well.

Mainly there are four seasons in Nepal: Autumn/Fall (Late September-November), Winter (December-February), Spring (March-May), and Summer (June-August)

A brief description of each of them is given below. By reading this you can plan to visit Nepal.

Autumn/Fall (Late September-November)

It is the best season to visit Nepal because of the different reasons.

It is the time to view the vivid panorama of the snowcapped mountains. The skies become crystal clear as it is the post Monsoon season.

A lot of tourists plan to trek in this season. They want to capture amazing photos of the Himalayas such as Everest and Annapurna and several other mountains.

This is the season of festivals as well. The dominant festivals such as Dashian, Tihar and Chhath lie in this season.

Winter (December-February)

Winter becomes the great time to visit Nepal as it has dry weather and the Crystal-clear skies.

The treks of the high mountains like Annapurna Circuit Trek, Everest High Pass trek may be closed because of snowcapped. But the treks in the lower elevations like Chisapani-Nagarkot Trek, Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek are the best options for trekkers.

Moreover, you can do some Jungle Safari and its related activities in Chitwan and Bardiya National Parks.

Spring (March-May)

This is another popular season for trekking in Nepal. Although the skies are a bit foggy that may obstruct the mountain views, the trekking trials become more crowded. Trekkers trek High pass trekking as well in this season.

This is the season of New Year in April and the popular festival named Holi in march.

Rhododendron, the national as well as famous flower of Nepal bloom in this season. You can enjoy seeing them in lower areas in early Spring and bloom in the Everest areas in late Spring.

Monsoon / Summer (June-August)

If you want to enjoy observing agricultural activities, this is the best season. In this season farmers are busy planting paddy, corn millet and several others.

They sing, dance and work together in the fields and farmhouses while planting such grains.

The skies become cloudy and travelling to the country may be disturbed due to ski landslides. It is common raining every day in this season.  But if you dare and are well prepared, can go for trekking as well.

Moreover, it is good idea trekking Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo because they fall in rain Shadow area and do not get often monsoon rain.

Conclusion

Such as all in all, there is no single and the best season to visit this amazing country. It depends upon your planning and activities that you want to do here.

If you want to do peak climbing, the spring will be the best. For trekking, Autumn is the best one.

For Jungle Safari, short hiking, cultural tours, rafting and others, all the seasons are the best ones.
