Trip Overview

Dolpa Circuit Trekking is an off the beaten adventure around remote areas of western Nepal that offers an exclusive opportunity to get insights into both upper and lower Dolpo region. Dolpa Circuit Trekking gives us a chance to visit hundreds of ancient monasteries including popular Shey Gompa built centuries ago. Hiking the Dolpa Circuit is an experience you’ll never forget. You’ll have the opportunity to experience life in the remote highlands.We also explore the Tibetan influenced cultures with Bon-Po religion which is believed to be followed in the same way since pre-Buddhist era. Trekking through beautiful trans-Himalayan landscapes, high passes, deepest Phoksundo Lake with spotting rare flora and fauna; Dolpa Circuit Trekking offers the best of all off the beaten adventures in Nepal.

We start our Dolpa Circuit Trekking after your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport followed by next day’s cultural sightseeing around UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley. Initially, we board a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj followed by another connecting flight to Juphal which is the starting point of our trek. During the initial days of our Dolpa Circuit Trekking, we gradually ascend through beautiful villages of Lingdo, Nawarpani and Sisaul before arriving at Dho Tarap. In this way, we cross the high pass of Numa La pass at an altitude of 5318m above sea level and descend down through pasture land of Yak Kharka via Baga La, beautiful Phoksundo Lake, Chepkha and back to Juphal before catching a flight back to Nepalgunj and finally Kathmandu.

Dolpa Circuit Trek is best recommended during the autumn and spring season. Winter is not recommended due to heavy rainfall. Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to 5 and 4 star hotel in Kathmandu

Day 2: Casual day for shopping and sightseeing around Kathmandu

Day 3: Flight Kathmandu-Nepalganj

Day 4: Flight Nepalgunj-Juphal (2475 m), walk to Dunai (2140 m) 2 ½ hrs

Day 5: Dunai (2140 m) to Lingdo (2391 m) 5 hrs

Day 6: Lingdo (2391 m) to Laina Odar (3370 m) 6 hrs

Day 7: Laina Odar (3370 m) to Nawarpani (3475 m) 4 hrs

Day 8: Nawarpani (3475 m) to Sisaul (3750 m) 3½ hrs

Day 9: Sisaul (3750 m) to Dho Tarap (4080 m) 4 hrs

Day 10: Dho Tarap (3944 m) to Numala Base Camp (4440 m) 3 ½ hrs

Day 11: Numala Base Camp (4440 m) to Danigar (4631 m) via Numa La (Pass) (5318 m) 6 hrs

Day 12: Danigar (4631 m) to Yak Kharka (3982 m) via Baga La (5190 m) 6 hrs

Day 13: Yak Kharka (3982 m) to Ringmo/Phoksundo Lake (3733 m) 2 ½ hrs
