Trip Overview

Tilman pass trek is one of the challenging, highest and difficult trekking passes between Langtang and Helambu region. It is one of the non touristy trekking trails. Tilman pass trek offers the best Himalayan views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal & Rolwaling Himalayan ranges.Tilman Pass stands tall with an attitude of 5320m. It was named after the British adventurer and explorer H. W. Tillman (1898-1977) who explored the Himalaya in the mid-20th century. Tilman Pass is one of the toughest mountain passes of Nepal  that connects the Tamang valley of Langtang with the sacred lakes of Panchpokhari while featuring continuous views of the Himalayas including the Langtang Himal range and Jugal Himal range.

Tilman pass trekking is less crowed for the trekkers who have entire desire of enjoying with nature in the remote area.Tillman Pass Trekking gives you different region Himalayan views, almost relaxing with High passes Himalaya range, living style of rural people and shares their culture.

Note: Please take care to note that your Sherpa guides  has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to your safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee  it. Weather, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. Your  Sherpa guides will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.Above itinerary are just a guideline  and easily customize-able at your preference.

 

Day to Day itinerary

After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and  completing your custom formalities pick up your luggage and look for representative of Adventure Sherpa Tracks who who will be with display board at the arrival gate. You  will be greeted by our representative and he/she  will pick you and transfer  to your  hotel. Then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In evening or noon , you  are introduced to your  fellow participants ,guides and discuss about our trip at Hotel where you stay.

After breakfast Adventure Sherpa Tracks’s tour guide will you pick from the hotel for full day sightseeing around Kathmandu . you will  tour among these world hesitate sites Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa , The Durbar Square sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. Depending on your preference it might be a other sites like Bhaktapur too .Back to hotel and preparation for the trek

We leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi, a village which is also the starting point for treks into the Langtang valley.Drive takes about six hours by bus or Land cruiser depending on group size. Our journey will be on a winding road through frequent switchbacks. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. Our trek for today ends with a descent into the small village of Syabrubesi. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Today is the first day of trekking. The initial segment of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and then follows Langtang Khola. The trail gradually ascends to Bamboo (1960m) from where you pass through bamboo and rhododendron forests. En route, you may see wild boars, langur monkeys, and even red pandas as you will be walking inside Langtang National Park. The next section of the trek is the ascent to Rimche (2400 m) which is going to be a bit more difficult. The trail reaches Lama Hotel around 30 minutes after Rimche. Overnight at tented camp in Lama Hotel.

We continue ascending from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village.Shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang (3,307m), headquarters of the Langtang National Park there is a monastery, which we might be able to visit. .Overnight

Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa takes about 3-4 hours. The trail gradually ascends to Sindum and then to Yamphu (3640m). Passing through the small villages and yak pastures, the valley opens out further and the views become better. You can see an amazing view of Langtang Himal range to the northwest. You arrive at Kyanjin Gompa by the lunchtime. Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient and the most sacred monastery in Langtang, is surrounded by the snowcapped peaks on all the sides. Overnight at tented camp in Kyanjin Gompa.

oday, you will take rest in order to get adjusted to the higher altitude conditions.Today is our rest and acclimatization day .We spend the  day exploring Tserko Ri which will also help us acclimatize to the high altitude. We begin early in the morning. The trail passes through yak pastures before ascending to Tserko Ri. The sunrise view from the top of Tserko Ri is extraordinary. We get back to Kyangjin Gompa by late afternoon and explore the beautiful monastery while enjoying views of the Himalayas, glaciers, birds and yaks.Overnight

You leave Kyanjin Gompa early in the morning and make your way to Langshisa Kharka.  You need to move early as the terrain will be frozen and the chance of the rocks falling is less. It will be a difficult trek as the terrain is snowy, icy, and the rocks fall throughout the day. After an hour or two, the slope levels out. Along the way, you get great views of Langshisa Ri (7427m) and Dorje Lakpa (6966m). Towards the end, you start climbing up and around some of the old glacial moraines. The actual site of Langshisa Kharka is marked with prayer flags and stone structures. Overnight at tented camp in Langshisa Kharka.

After breakfast, you head steeply towards Moraine Camp. You ascend the rocky moraine of Langshisa Glacier through the high alpine vegetation and reach the Moraine Camp which is situated at an altitude of 4580m. You are now surrounded by exquisite snowcapped mountains and the view is absolutely amazing. Overnight at tented camp in Moraine Camp.

You trek for 6-7 hours to reach Yak Kharka via Tilman’s Pass (5320m). It is better to make an early start as the boulder field gets more unstable due to the sunlight. It will be both physically and mentally challenging climb as the footing is slippery and filled with unstable rocks. As you reach the top, breathing may get difficult, due to the high altitude, as Tilman Pass is one of the highest points in this trek. From the top, you get spectacular views of the surrounding snowcapped mountains. Then, you descend from the other side passing through the loose rocks and arrive at Yak Kharka. Overnight at tented camp in Yak Kharka.

Today, we begin our journey to Tin Pokhari, which means three lakes. You will descend down the snowy slopes and loose rocks. In the winter season, these lakes are completely frozen. It is a wonderful camping site as you get to relish the magnificent beauty of the lakes along with the views of the Himalayan chain that dominates the surrounding. Overnight at tented camp in Tin Pokhari.

Today, you trek to the tranquil Panchpokhari (Five Lakes). En route, you pass rocky hills and alpine vegetation. The trek today is calm and quiet as there are no settlements on the way and you would be walking mostly through the forest to reach Panchpokhari. Panchpokhari is designated as a wetland area and is crucial for sustaining the local biodiversity. These lakes of Panchpokhari are situated near to each other, each of them equally beautiful and tranquil. The landscape around the place is absolutely incredible. Overnight at tented camp in Panchpokhari.

After late weak up and have hot breakfast we will wonder around Panch pokhari and nature excursion. This eye-catching setting is a secluded pilgrimage site where the Janaipurnima festival is held in August. Many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit this lake each year and we can see two pilgrim houses and the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Stay overnight at camp.

Early in the morning, you leave Panch Pokhari and head towards Nasimpati. It will be a moderate walk and a gradual descent through the rocky hills. Passing through the alpine vegetation and exploring the wildlife, you make your way to Nasimpati. Overnight at tented camp in Nasimpati.

You leave Nasimpati and trek through the rocky hills and rhododendron forests. It will then be a downhill trek before you arrive at Hile Bhanjyang. The culture and lifestyle of the people in this village along with the scenic landscape are fascinating, to say the least. Overnight at tented camp in Hile Bhanjyang.

Today, after breakfast, you make your way to Pauwabas. It will be an uphill trek through the forest. Passing through the rhododendron forests, you enjoy the natural beauty of the region. On a clear day, you can also see the peaks of Jugal Himal Range. Then, you descend on a steep trail to arrive in Pauwabas. Overnight at tented camp in Pauwabas.

We will have breakfast in Pauwabas as usual time and our guide will brief all about the area and its people, culture and history along the way of coming trail. Today’s walk is nice and gentle, being fairly level (‘Nepali flat’) and we can enjoy our forest trails and wildlife spotting. We have about 5 to 6 hours through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine and juniper and we can see some nomad’s houses for cattle on the way.After an easy walk of 6-7 hours, you pass a group of waterfalls before arriving in Kami Kharka.Overnight

The trail from here we get into solve descend through stunning, dense Rhododendron and pine forest. And then gently walk downhill to the Okhreni. If we are lucky and observant, we might spot some wild animals such as mountain deer or langur monkeys and Nepali birdlife like the danfe. We spend overnight here with regular activities. We camp at Sano Okhareni near a pine forest and with great views to the mountains!Overnight

Today will be our last day of trekking. It will be a downhill walk for about 4-5 hours then you arrive in Chautara. En route to Chautara, you pass many small villages with different ethnic groups. Upon arrival in the vibrant town of Chautara, you drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the countryside view. You’ll be transferred to your hotel after arriving in Kathmandu. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

The reserved day is for in case of delays in the mountains Today, you can spend the day as you please in the Kathmandu and casual day for Shopping around Kathmandu.

Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! Approximately three hours before your scheduled international flight, Our representative from Adventure Sherpa Tracks  will drop you off at the Tribhuwan International airport  and does  a farewell.
