Todau we fly to Pokhara early in the morning. As soon as we land in Pokhara, we notice the spectacular Himalayan vista the city is adorned with. We can see Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, the five peaks of Annapurna and others. From Pokhara, we drive to Naya Pul and start the trek. We walk through a valley forest, cross the Bhurundi Khola (river) before reaching Tikhedhunga Village. The Ulleri Hill with thousands of steps and boulders that continually go upward will really prove a test of our stamina. We reach Ulleri by late afternoon. Overnight.

After breakfast, we ascend to the Ghorepani village via stone stairs. As we are ascending we admire the spectacular scenery as Annapurna South looms large, coming and going from our view.  We pass waterfalls, tiny villages, and several tea-houses before reaching Ghorepani. We stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains.  Overnight .

Today’s itinerary consists of a small hike to famous Poon Hill to see the majestic sunrise view over the gigantic Annapurna massif. After soaking the mesmerizing sight, return to the guesthouse, have your warm breakfast and start your hike towards Tadapani. Hike along the ridgeline and through a pleasant rhododendron forest before reaching Tadapani. Overnight at the guesthouse in Tadapani.

Parting from Tadapani, today, you hike towards Chomrong village. The trail starts off with a descent through a large rhododendron forest. The forest trail ends and our trail opens up to beautifully terraced fields. We walk uphill for around 5 km and pass waterfalls and reach a suspension bridge. Suspension bridges are very common in the hilly and mountainous regions of Nepal. A few more miles of uphill and downhill trekking and we reach our destination for today, Chhomrong. It is a beautiful village right below the giant Annapurna massive. The village of Chomrong is tucked down at the very base of Huinchuli. Overnight in Chhomrong.

Descend to the river and then climb up to Sinuwa from where you walk through thick forest festooned with orchids and ferns on the western bank of Modi River to Khuldi. Then, it’s a descent down a long, steep, slippery stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. After the small settlement of Bamboo, the trail climbs gradually to reach Doban. Overnight.

You trek steadily to Deurali, which is the home to troops of Langur Monkeys. At Deurali the forest disappears and the valley opens up, with the mountains now appearing very close by. Deurali is at the foot of the Modi Himal and Machhapuchhare, one of the most famous mountains in the Himalayas. Some teams prefer to continue to Machhapuchhare Base Camp in the afternoon, if everyone is feeling good. Overnight.

It is a gradual ascent to Machhapuchhare Base Camp, though the trail does cross a number of avalanche paths – a stark reminder of the heavy snowfall that can occur in winter. The mountain views are fabulous; the panorama includes Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III (7,555m), Gangapurna (7,454m) and Machhapuchhare itself Overnight camp.

It’s a pleasant 2 – 3 hrs  hike up to Annapurna Base Camp. The trail follows a stream and passes by a few Shepherd’s huts alongside the moraine. Hopefully in the evening you will see the sun setting on Annapurna I. Overnight.

The route takes you along the South Annapurna Glacier round the western aspect of Tharpu Chuli. A rock gully leads off the glacier and up to flat spot on a broad ridge where you camp.

We climb up to the High Camp of Tent Peak. It takes 3-4  hours to get there and will serve as the perfect preparation for our summit the next day. Latter part your day will involve learning valuable mountain climbing skills from our Sherpa guides.

The North West Ridge is attained by climbing a fluted wall between Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peak. From camp, you follow slopes to Rakshi Peak. You climb a couple of rock steps to access the glacier, then cross it at 5,335m to reach the base of the headwall (which we will fix with rope). This is followed on slopes of 40 – 45° to arrive on the ridge. The ridge is climbed in an airy position to the summit. Descend to Base Camp and then all the way down to Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

we  retrace your steps through Doban as far as Bamboo. We can enjoy views of waterfalls and pass through forests soaking in great views of Machapuchhre and Hiunchuli mountains. Overnight in Bamboo.

Then we ascend on the thousand stone steps that will take us to Upper Chomrong. From Chomrong we descend to Jhinu Danda. While here we can relax on a natural hot spring which is only 15 minutes away from where we are staying. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.
