Trip Overview

Mera & Island Peak climbing via  Amphu  Laphca Pass (5,780m)  trek are  one of Nepal’s challenging off-the beaten-path trails that offers extraordinary Himalayan scenery. These two peaks are separated by the formidable mountain chain dividing the Hongu and Khumbu Valleys. This expedition provides an opportunity for mountaineers to attempt both peaks, linking them with a crossing of the remote and stunning Amphu Labtsa Pass (5,780m).This trip is an ideal choice for a true adventure seeker looking for a challenging adventure who wish to  climb both mera peak (6476m/21,246ft) and island peak  (6189m/20,305ft) at once go

On our Mera Peak and island peak Climbing trip via Amphu Labcha Pass trip we climb one of the most fascinating trekking peaks in Nepal. Anyone who has frequented the high Himalayas will agree that these 2 trip  provides the finest views of the Himalayan vista.

Most of the mountaineers does this trip via Zatrwa La Pass  which is the  quickest way to get to finish this trip. However, we trek into the mountain via a longer route, which provides better acclimatization. This also takes you off the beaten track and immerses the trekker into local culture along the way.We have designed our Mera peak itinerary in a professional manner with perfect acclimatization and contingency days.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Casual day for Trip Preparation

Day 3:Drive to Phaplu (2413m/7916ft)  9-10 hrs

Day 4: Drive to Kharikhola and Trek to Panggom (2,850m /93515ft)/5-6 hrs

Day 5:  Panggom to Ningsow (2,863m/9,394ft ) 4-5 hrs

Day 6: Ningsow to Chhatra Khola (2,800m/9,187ft)  7-8 hrs

Day 7: Chhatra Khola to Kothe (3,691m/12,110ft) 6-7 hrs

Day 8: Kothe to Thaknak (4,358m/14,299ft ) 3-4 hrs

Day 9: Thaknak to Khare (5,045m/16,553ft) 2-3 hrs

Day 10: Khare: Acclimatization and pre climb training (5,045m/16,553ft)

Day 11:  Khare to Mera La (5415m/17765ft) or Base Camp (5300m/17388ft) 3-4 hrs

Day 12:  Move to Mera High Camp (5,780m/18,964ft) 3-5 hrs

Day 13: Summit Mera Peak (6,461m/21,1907ft) and descend to Kongma Dingma (4850m/15912ft)

Day 14: Reserve Day for Contingency (5,045m/16,553ft)

Day 15: Kongma Dingma to Seto Pokhari (5000m/16400 ft)  4-5 hours

Day 16: Seto Pokhara to Amphu Laptsa High Camp south (5400m/17712 ft)  4-5 hours

Day 17: Cross Amphu Laptsa (5845m/19172 ft) and trek to Chukung , 8-9 hours

Day 18: Rest Day at Chukung

Day 19:  Chukung to Island Peak High Camp (5,600m/18,372ft)  4 -6 hours

Day 20: Summit Island Peak (6189m/20306) and trek to Chhukung Village, 8-9 hours

Day 21: Reserve Day for Contingency

Day 22: Chhukung to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280ft )    5-6 hrs

Day 23: Trek to Lukla (2800m/9184ft)  6-7 hrs

Day 24: Fly back to Kathmandu

Day 25: Casual day and sightseeing in Kathamadnu

Day 26: Transfer to airport for international flight

Weather, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary.
