Trip Overview

Panch Pokhari lake which exists at the height of 4060m is located on the north-west part of Sindupalchowk district. Panch Pokhari Trekking is designed uniquely to offer glorious holidays in Nepal. Panch Pokhari is Nepali for ‘five lakes’ at the base of Jungal Himal, which are considered to be holy and of religious importance. Panch Pokhari is the combination of five different beautiful different lakes.The trek to Panch Pokhari is a 12 to 15 days trek to these five holy lakes through untouched traditional villages in the presence of spectacular Himalayan landscapes. The trek offers pristine mountain views, rich culture and genuine adventure combined with unsurpassed scenic beauty and biological diversity as you make your way to a group of high altitude lakes, sacred to both Buddhist and Hindu people.

While the trekking is towards the base of Jugal Himal to the north-east of kathmandu trekkers can enjoy many pristine views of the himalays  and also know about the cultures and traditions of various ethinic group of Nepal This place is known for its cultural heritage and unique natural beauty, trek route passes through the villages exploring the Mansiri, Rolwaling Jugal and Mahalangur range of the Himalayas

Itinerary Overview

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,430ft)

Day 02: Drive to Simpal (1813m/ 5hrs ) by private land cruiser

Day 03: Trek from Simpal to Kami Kharka [2810m/6 hours]

Day 04 : Trek to Pauwa Bas (3,000m/ 6-7 hrs)

Day 05 : Trek to Hille Bhanjyang (3,400m/4 hrs)

Day 06 : Trek to Panchpokhari (4,100m/ 6  hrs)

Day 07 : Trek to Panchpokhari top, trek down to Tupi Danda (2,320m/6-7 hrs)

Day 08 :Trek to Dhap (1,200m/ 6 hrs)

Day 09: Trek to Melamchi [800m/5 hours] and drive back to Kathmandu

Day 10: Reserved day and sightseeing

Day 11 :Trnasfer to airport for final departure

Note: Please take care to note that your Sherpa guides  has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to your safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee  it. Weather, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. Your  Sherpa guides will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.Above itinerary are just a guideline  and easily customize-able at your preference.

Day to Day itinerary

After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and  completing your custom formalities pick up your luggage and look for representative of Adventure Sherpa Tracks who who will be with display board at the arrival gate. You  will be greeted by our representative and he/she  will pick you and transfer  to your  hotel. Then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In evening or noon , you  are introduced to your  fellow participants ,guides and discuss about our trip at Hotel where you stay.

We take a drive to the small village of Simpal relishing the countryside view throughout the ride. On our way to Simpal, we pass through Chautara, the headquarters of Sindhupalchowk district. As we drive further, alongside different rivers and streams, the settlement starts to get sparse and green hills to dominate the landscape. The drive to Simpal is only going to add thrill to the already excited you. Overnight at Lodge in Simpal.

We begin our first day of trek gradually ascending to Sano Okhareni. We then continue to trek on a steep trail through the densely forested path. We may also encounter some wild animals like mountain deer, langur monkeys and various species of birds. Crossing several smaller settlements on the way, we reach Kami Kharka for our overnight stay.

Today we walk through the flat trail at first then enter the forested path filled with rhododendron, oaks, pine, and juniper trees. After about 5 to 6 hours of walk through the forest area, we get the sight of nomad’s houses for cattle on our way to Pauwa Bas. Walking through the silent and tranquil forest, we arrive in Pauwa Bas. Overnight in a tented camp.

Leaving Pauwa Bas behind, we ascend through a steep trail for about 3 hours. We then steeply descend for about one and a half hours through the forested trail. It is a quiet walk through an uninhabited area. Relishing the amazing view of mountains on our way, we arrive in Hile Bhanjyang. Overnight in a tented camp.

We start to trek towards Panch Pokhari which is only about 4 hours of walking. We first ascend through steep trail then gently descend through the forested trail to Nasyampati from where we get an amazing mountain view. We then continue to climb up through rocky hills to finally arrive in Panch Pokhari. The holy lakes of Panch Pokhari do not only serve as a pilgrimage site of the Hindu and Buddhist devotees but are equally beautiful scenically. The temple in Panch Pokhari is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Overnight in a tented camp.

Today, we start early morning to catch the sun rising against the Himalayas. We hike to the top of Panch Pokhari for a panoramic view of Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Jugal Himal Range, Ganesh Himal Range, Rolwaling Himal Range, and Langtang Himal Range. After spending some quality time, we return back to Panch Pokhari and head towards Tupi Danda through steep trails. Overnight in a tented camp.

Leaving behind Tupi Danda, we steeply descend for some time, and the rest of the trail is quite leveled as we walk through terraced farm fields to reach the village of Dhap. Dhap is a beautiful village inhabited by Tamang community. Overnight in Dhap.

For the last day of our trek, we head towards Melamchi through terraced farm fields alongside Indrawati River. We also come across a hydroelectricity project on our way to Tipeni. Upon reaching Melamchi, we drive back to the capital in our private jeep and transfer you to the 3-star hotel in Kathmandu for an overnight stay.

The reserved day is for in case of delays in the mountains. Today, you can spend the day as you please in the Kathmandu and casual day for Shopping and sightseeing  around Kathmandu.

Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! Approximately three hours before your scheduled international flight, Our representative from Adventure Sherpa Tracks  will drop you off at the Tribhuwan International airport  and does  a farewell.
