Trip Overview

Gokyo Valley Trekking is an exciting adventure at Everest region with an opportunity to view never seen before dramatic scenes of world’s highest Himalayas above 8000 meters including Mt. Everest from summit of Gokyo Ri at 5335 m. Also enjoy trekking through insightful Sherpa Villages, alpine surroundings passing all the way across biggest Ngozumpa glacier which are the major highlights of this trip.This trek will provide you complete pleasure as you’ll get a chance to enjoy the actual journey.

The sparkling, pristine blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are one of Nepal’s most memorable sights. The Gokyo Lakes trek is ideal for people who want to trek in the Everest region, but who want more variety of views and fewer nights spent at very high altitude and avoid the Everest crowed.

We start our Gokyo Trekking after your arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel and next day cultural sightseeing around world heritage sites basically around Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple area. Initially we take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and start walking across Dudhkoshi river banks, crossing suspension bridges until stopping at Phakding for Night Halt. In the following day we arrive at beautiful Sherpa village of Namche Bazar which is also a popular trading place. In the following day, we continue our journey towards Machhermo for beautiful Himalayan views. This Gokyo Trekking is also a great way to get insights into local cultures, traditions and lifestyle of local Sherpa inhabitants. Enjoying the beauty of nature, we cross the huge and beautiful Ngozumba Glacier. After arrival at magical place of Gokyo where crystal clear Turquoise Lakes with panoramic views of highest Himalayas above 8000 meters Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and even Everest. These excellent Himalayan sceneries are considered even more beautiful and rare than from Kalapathher. Finally, with great moment of adventure and delight we descend towards Dole to Lukla and fly towards Kathmandu

Day 3: Flight from Kathmandu to lukla 45 min and trek to phakding 2620m

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche bazaar 3446

Day 5: Rest day and acclimatization day

Day 6: Trek from Namche to Dole

Day 7: Trek from Dole to Machechhermo

Day 8: Trek from Mahechhermo to Gokyo
